NaNoCounter still eating two words. Anyways, LOL TWILIGHT SUCKS SO BADLY. LOLOLOL. That is all.

Excerpt with 8th Graders cursing like Sailors under the cut!

Bree had it right to keep her secret safe, Arika sure as hell wished she had kept hers from being let out. She was sure as hell regretting it now. ‘If only I hadn’t…’ Arika began to reminisce of the time during which she found out her ability…

It had been only about four years ago which her ability had manifested. She had lived the past ten years a full on mute and stuck in the prison which was the orphanage. Her clothes were less than spectacular, not that her clothes today were all that great either, and her education was a bit rudimentary. She knew her multiplication table and her addition, but nothing else seemed to stay in her head. Arika left the prison for only a little while with adopted parents at the age of five, but because of parental problems they soon became unsuitable and Arika was taken from the little bit of light her life had seen. She missed her parents dearly, as well as her voice, and only dreamed of seeing them again. But little Arika knew that she would never see them again, she had seem the injuries that they had sustained… there was no way in heaven or hell they would be able to live through such horrible impalements.

She still went to school as usual, though due to her inability to vocalize, she found it extremely hard to make friends and was quickly branded as the outcast. She was left out of a lot of groups, and there was no way she was accepted by a lot of her classmates, which left her alone for most of her schooling.

Well, up until the moment she intruded her classmate’s mind.

It was just a normal day, Arika’s thoughts ran wild against all of her classmates. She was sick of being left out and sick of being made fun of. She had to do a group project, which of course the teacher didn’t give a damn about Arika’s problem to find a group (What a lovely teacher, don’t you think?), and left her to fend for herself. Arika walked up to a group and tried to motion for them to understand. Sign language might have been nice, except for the fact that no one would get it anyways so it wasn’t worth the effort to learn. The group merely laughed loudly at her, which chain reationed to cause the entire class to burst into laughter. Arika, her face flushed with embarrassment, let her head fill up with thoughts like daggers, each one aiming right into the boy’s head. Shockingly, one actually made it there. It wasn’t exactly very nice either, which caused him to curse off Arika back, since she would be the only candidate to have said something.

“I’m a what, you little mute bitch?”

“Billy!” The teacher shouted, hearing the use of language.

“Go on, say it again however you did it!” Billy taunted Arika, so she tried it again.

“Fuck off.” Arika shouted into the boy’s head.

“A-Arika?!” The teacher spoke in horror.

“Th-that… that was i-in m-my h-head…!” He replied, shocked and horrified.

“Yeah so what? Wanna try me again?” Arika tested her luck. She knew it wasn’t best to be pushing it, but she didn’t give a damn.

“I’d like my mind back Mute!”

“Not gonna happen, unless you want me to lose,” Arika replied smugly.

Wrong choice of words.

Billy’s temper took off in the shape of a flying punch. For a split second Arika felt it coming and quickly moved away, causing him to miss. Unfortunately for her, that little bit of luck didn’t come back and he ended up giving her a black eye. Both of them served detention, though Arika also had a second detention of sorts to go to… The Laboratory. At the time, she hadn’t known what was to come from it, but she tried to think it would all go well. They treated her like a little princess, which made her feel really happy. Plus, she could talk there without fear of using her talent. She was made feel welcome and wanted. But she soon realized that they wanted her too much, life there was horrid after they took custody of her. Not the best choice she ever made, but Arika was sure now if she had denied, the sorts of things going on now might have come much sooner.

Arika finally pulled herself out of her memories and realized she was home again.

:D
